Does anyone know how to actually make this 03 grille into a 2 piece. I want the chrome border and I don't want to break it.

What 2 pieces do you want to make this into exactly?
It's made out of plastic so if you need to cut it a jigsaw with a medium fine blade for metal cutting would probably be your best bet.

First of all, put a picture of the back of that grill up in here and let's see if it really is a 2 piece grill. It might be one piece.

There is a "how to" on a full chrome grill that should guide you through.

As you can see on the back it's 2 pieces. I want to seperate them without braking the chrome piece. I want to put that around my McLaren grille.

I tried to find the article, but I can't find it. Maybe somebody else will.

EDIT: good, you found it.

For those who want a full chrome grille but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars there's this cheap kit on ebay that looks surprisingly good for what it is.

It's just chrome trim cut off a roll to lengths that still have to be trimmed to fit with sizzors or a razor. The pieces are actually a little bit short to fit snug so there is a small gap on top and bottom.
It took me about 20 minutes to put this. I put masking tape on the factory chrome and brush painted it the color of the car to see how it would look but decided ultimately I preferred the stock grille so I peeled everything off.
One could buy a roll of chrome trim the right width and cut it length also.
