a pic comparing the two... I got my kits from american air. soon my 96 LSC will look like it should.

Why don't you just sensor lower it if the air ride is still good? The air ride is big part of what makes a Mark VIII a... Mark VIII.

I still think you should keep the air ride in the 96 LSC... you already have your 1994 modified Mark VIII for handling, the 96 LSC is one of the rarest Mark VIII's you can find and if you want to improve the handling with the air ride you can get an Adco rear sway bar and 03 Cobra shocks...

Keep the air! I like both of your painted black grills! The cars look better that way IMO.

I'd imagine an air ride car with a Module 8 or similar could handle pretty well when lowered..

True.... but that is what I like so thats how it will be. I am saving all my air-ride parts anyway.

Please tell me thats not stock air ride height. Oh my god...

Anyone in the NYC area wanna help me with lowering ?

from what i can see, its seems the one in the back is sitting a little lower then the one in the front. looks very nice

Yea, it's the 1.5 drop coil conversion from American Air Ride suspension for $425.

Lookin good JC.....

After a rebuild of my 95's front suspension, I reverse all of my previous statments about it riding like a log wagon, and never doing the coils again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, the way it rides now.

I own a 96 LSC and there is something wrong with your 96. That is not stock height. It looks like someone did something to the front sensors. Also, I have ridden in an American Air Mark VIII and by no means is it better than air. NO WAY. I honestly think everyone that does the conversion wants to convince themselves that it's better. If I spent that money to change things over I would want to believe the same. Or, American Air will send you $5.00 back for every positive post about them. I'm not sure which one it is. but something's up. JC double check that front end something isn't right. Hate to say this but I like yours better than mine. I was looking for black interior when I bought mine. But, didn't want to lose out on the chance to buy mine at the time. (LT/Graphite Interior)

I think the "stock height" coil conversion is at the "city driving" height for a Mark that still has its air ride, which is 0.8" higher than the "highway" or "parked" height.

To see what I mean, take a look at a stock Mark VIII (with stock air suspension) when the car is off, then turn the car on and wait for the air ride to pump up. You will notice a difference, and it won't be pretty. Hence the reason I went with the 1.5" lowered kit (0.7" lower than "highway/parked" height) when my own air ride died.

I did'nt say it rides better....................

I'm talking about the difference in handling. Oversize sway bars front and back, and performance struts and shocks with 275/40 rubber on all 4 corners.

Ask Chicken, or brent how it handles. :)

It looks like stock ride height to me. My 95 was way up in the air when I first got it too. Every (stock) Mark that I have ever seen sits a bit higher in the front. Maybe yours was lowered a bit? As far as the air ride/coils go, I still have the air ride. I personally like it, others like the fact that once you install coils it's all done. If I couldn't work on cars and had to pay a mechanic then I would probally go with coils to avoid the headache of the air ride but I do work on my cars and I don't see anything hard about keeping the air ride in good shape.

coils vs. air = ford vs. chevy or lincoln vs. cadillac!!!

I've seen a lot of marks sense I have owned mine. I've had it 10 years and I have never seen a stock mark set that high without something being wrong. It looks like there is 5 inches of gap. I just replaced my front upper a-arms yesterday and that's what mine looked like with the sensors were not attached to the upper a-arm. I'm sure you already checked that though. Just trying to help you out. I won't make that mistake again.
