first issue, all the sudden when I start my car, the seats dont move in to my desired setting any more. I have to press the "1" button on the door.

second issue - maybe related. My drivers mirror moves, but not up or down... or left or right... cant remember. And my passenger mirror dont move at all. EXCEPT! for when I turn my car on, and press "1" it goes all the way to the f'n right... so I have to push it back manually.

please help before I set the thing on fire and park it in my living room... effectivly eliminating two bills I no longer want :)

Does the seat operate correctly when you use the buttons on the side of the seat? Is it just the memory and/or easy exit features that are failing?

For each mirror, can you adjust them using the pad on the door, or do you have to move the glass by hand. Have you tried pressing the memory button (one or two) several times to see if the mirrors eventually move to the correct position?

If the manual controls work, then what you are experiencing is electrical noise from the position feedback potentiometers on the mirrors and the seat. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common issue as the LS ages. So far, my 06 is not having any problems, but my 04 has been a little touchy on this for a while now. When it gets bad enough, I was thinking of trying to clean the sensors with some electrical cleaner spray and/or adding some filter capacitors to the signal lines.

Is it just the memory and/or easy exit features that are failing? It moves back to exit, but doesnt move to my preset after starting. If I press "1" it goes to my preset. It then proceeds to move the passenger mirror all the way to the right. But my door mirror controls wont move it anywhere, so I have to force it back "click click click click click click"

Yes, tried pressing I get nothing other than the seat moves, steering wheel, pedals, mirror does its own thing. I have to move by hand, but that is not really convienient as I am forcing it, the door electronics dont seem to be working.

I didnt add this originally but maybe it will make a difference.

My wife took my passanger mirror of with the garage. I bought a used one and threw it on there, it came from a 2nd gen, which is what I have. It does appear to be slightly different - maybe newer than 04. It worked enough for me to live with it, but I couldnt get it to move up with the door pad, but it would go up if I pressed my presets. So it wasnt a big deal to me.

Now using the pad on the door, I cant get my door mirror or the passanger mirror to do anything.

update!

On my way to lunch I tried messing with it a little...

The seat still doesnt move when I put the key in (yes it is set to easy out or whatever)

and, if on the mirror controls I press down on the right mirror/left mirror selector it will move the mirrors randomly... also, now it seems that when in the left or neutral position the driver mirror will move too. Still no up or down on the passy side.

how do I get that panel off so I can inspect/clean under the controls? As I live out in the farms, probably mice in there.

The parts that I was talking about cleaning are inside the mirrors and under the seat. Your problem descriptions suggest that something else is going on. Either you have multiple problems with your mirrors and seat, wiring issues, or your driver's door module is going bad. The trouble-shooting to determine which of those things it is, is too involved to do over the internet.

If you have another LS handy, you could swap the driver's door modules between them and find out if that is where the problem is or not.

I don't think the DDM can just be swapped out, since it's a CAN bus module that's involved in the keyless entry system, but I could be (and probably am) mistaken.

It sounds to me like your car has forgotten which driver setting is tied to your key--look in the Owner's Guide and follow the steps for telling the car that this key (and fob) belongs to driver #1. If you don't have your OG, look in the Tech Articles (see the menu at the top of this page) to find a PDF of it.

Sorry, but you are. They can be swapped as long as they are from the same generation. The keypad codes, memory settings, and remotes would all swap with the module, since it's where that stuff is all stored.
It's mainly the cluster and the PCM that have to stay together. You can swap the other modules, as long as you don't swap too many at the same time.

I turned off the easy exit on my 01 because I was occasionally having the same issues. So now I don't have to worry about it.

I turned off the Easy Exit because I don't want to Cause these problems :D I figured the less them move the less I'll have to fix them lol..

Once in a while though, it seems as though my drivers mirror moves up just a hair, I figured it was just because the door gets used so much more than the rest that it might be a lil loose or something.

I tried turning that off to... didnt fix anything.

Now I notice that the passanger mirror is still moving even when the car is off. Keeps trying to move out (right) and sits there and clicks on occasion as it can no longer go left anymore.

Thinking about disconnecting that mirror, setting it in place and forgetting about it.
