oops forgot to mention: 2003 ls V8 with 58k miles.

Ok - I posted about this in another thread and a couple people suggested checking the fuel cap, or checking the sensor wires atop the strut mount to see if it fixed the error code: "P0452 emissions evap system pressure low"

well now not only do I have that code (which remains unfixed even after checking the above remedies) I also have the code "P0442 emissions evap system leak (small)" what the heck? I really need help with this issue...does anyone have any insight on what's going on? what can I check/replace without having to go to the dealer? I tried going to see if they would cover it under warranty and the guy was a jerk - he said they wouldn't even be able to tell me until I paid a 218 dollar diagnostics fee.

help meeeeee!

I still have no resolution to this problem. Searching the forums comes up with like 5,000 results...anything mentioning the letter P comes up for goodness sake. Anyway...can anyone please help? Any insight to whats going on? Still have both of these problems. Car runs great but the codes still come up.

it will be covered under warranty... its emissions related.. the above solutions didnt work now it will take a smoke test to find your small leak... how did you check the gas cap... just by tightening?? thats not a test... it needs to be check with pressure...

take it to your local dealer and they will have to fix it...

Well what do you folks recommend I say when they demand a diagnostics fee? I friggin hate the car dealers, always so sneaky and demanding of money.

I believe that it is Federal law. Eight years and 80K miles for emissions equipment. There should be no diagnostics fee.

its covered under the emissions warranty on the car..that's all you will have to say....
