1st Gen People - Plug Wire Question

Hey guys,

I'm replacing the wires on my '94 Mark tomorrow. My only question is whether to use dielectric grease on the connections between the wires and the towers on the coil packs? I'm definitely going to use it on the plug boots, but I just wonder whether the coil pack connections are secure enough to be greased.

Buy the Ford Racing wires, they come in blue or red. They are top quality at a reasonable price.
 
also install them with the right routing as crossing them wrong will cause problems later. jd

and my ford racing wires (in red) are awesome. and have been awesome for years. good stuff.

i just ordered new autolite 764 copper core plugs because it's been long enough that i can't remember when i put them in, so its time for a change. been 20k + miles at least.
 
Never use anti-sieze on plugs. They are not designed for it anymore and have not been for years, the platting is fine. And never, ever use di-electric grease on the actual connections. Its a non-conductive grease used to help seal connections from the elements, but should NEVER be put onto the metal leads themselves. Ever.

I kinda get what your saying about the grease, also makes the boot come off the plug easer when swapping em out. No anti size when putting a steel threaded plug in a soft aluminum head when they expand and contract at two different rates? I'd never chance that!
