How is everyone?

I got a 1998 Lincoln Mark 8. I put a new battery in it a couple of months ago while it was in the shop for a brake replacement. A week ago, when I drove the vehicle back home, I went to operate the vehicle a couple of days later and the power was dead.

I had to jump the vehicle off with my other vehicle. Which, which the Lincoln Mark 8 was being charged, the interior lights didn't go off while the doors were closed. There is also a "Right Door Ajar" message on the information center.

I turned the Lincoln Mark 8 on after a few minutes of charging, the vehicle started up. I let the vehicle idle for a few minutes for the battery to charge. A couple of minutes after I had turned the vehicle off, the power went dead

Spray the right door latch with WD-40. If the car thinks the door is open, the interior lights will not turn off. The door ajar message is common.

That's funny the SAME thing happened to me last week. Out of the blue the driver's door would not register as "closed". Apparently the WD40 trick works wonders but I haven't had a chance to try it yet as my car is in the shop getting an alignment. Let us know if it works for you!
