1997 mark viii overdrive not workin

anybody know why my overdrive/light will not come on when i hit switch,i know there was some problems with the wire from the switch being sawed in two...can anyone advise....thx john

yes,your wire probably rubbed it self apart,i have to fix this on my car too

o/d button still not workin

i pulled apart my console and dash checked o/d wire only up to shifter...i could not get shifter off of post..there is no piece on back of leather shift handle too remove....anyone have any imput.and if they know how handle comes off...thx john
