1997 Compass Module Connector

The compass module in my 1997 LSC needs to be replaced. I bought a used replacement from EBay. Now the problem is that I can't figure out how to disengage the connector. What makes this especially frustrating is that the replacement part came with the connector still in place and I can't even get it disengaged despite having in my hand with only the cut off wires. Is there a secret?

I pulled one off a town car ? I guess the module goes under the rear view mirror on the 97 Mark VIII ? , I have “check compass” message on mine and my module was cut completely off originally
