1993 mercedes s500 (question)

I was just wondering if anyone has had one. A man in my neighborhood has had it for a while and for the past 6 years it has just sat in his driveway. I talked to him today and he said he would sell it for cheep,but didn't give me a figure but the engine has some problems. The timing belt is bad, it starts and runs but when I said that the engine probably had to be gone through he agreed. I was just wondering what kind of price should I pay for it.

I wouldn't pay more than $500, but I always pay less than a car is worth. lol. Timing belts are nothing to mess with.

Thing is I was informed that it's chain driven not belt, but IDK what to really pay for it. I'm thinking the same figure as you tho. I have always been a fan of the W140 Platform.
