does anybody know if a 1990 tripminder will work in a 1991?

Yea, I'm almost positive(99.9% sure) 90-92 are all the same. 84-89 are different because the dash was different, and the buttons are flat instead of angled.

I think I've heard the '92 Tripminder's electronics are different than the other years, different interface on the back of the speedo cluster.

Yup, it should work fine. I don't know of any changes from 91 to 92.
It's possible but I really doubt it.
Even an '85 tripminder will work in a 91. You just have to take it apart and swap some parts, but they all interchange and plug up, fine.
