I have a great opportunity to get a 1958 cadillac convertible for next to nothing from someone I know, and I was hoping someone could give me some information about restoring it. Its a 365 rated at 335 "brake" horsepower. How does that compare to todays ratings? Could I get to an honest 300hp at the wheels from an upgraded fuel system? Would it have to pass emissions or is there some different way to register it? Any idea of what one in decent condition is worth?
