Since selling the "dubs" Ive been running the sport 17x8s, Ive gone through a couple sets of rear tires so far, a nice set of Goodyear Eagles which I wish I didnt smoke up and a set of Firestones and Michilins which I will buy neither of, EVER. Thankfully all of those sets I got free from work. Anywho, I would like to go back to the Nittos I ran on the rear when I had 20's, NT05's. They make a 255 and a 275, has anyone ran that wide of a tire on the stock 5 spokes? Mainly the 275's, I know the 255's will fit, I just dont want them to be sticking way out or anything like rubbing, ya know?

17x7.5

Biggest I've gone is 245/45

Highly doubt 275 will fit (correctly, if at all)

As dNyce LSsaid, the stock wheel is 7.5" wide. That said, I have used 255/45/17s on the stock wheel with no problem at stock ride height. I seriously doubt there would be any rubbing lowered.

275 is pretty damn big for a 7.5 rim however 255 would be much better. You were probably running used tires before? Get a quality set of tire like continental Extreme Contact DW... Or those nittos you had I guess(I have little experience with nittos).

Theyre definitely 17x8's, measure them here at work everytime I balance them. I was thinking the 275s would be too wide, I dont want the sidewall all ballooned out or anything. Guess Ill nab some 255s until I get different wheels.

"Measuring" them isn't accurate. There is a stamp on the inside of one of the spokes that says 17X7 1/2. There is another (IIRC) with the offset. You can't measure outside of rim to outside of rim and get the exact wheel measurement. Edge to edge my 17" wheel measures 18 1/2".

Factory wheel options from Team Ford's site:

11 spoke, 17x7.5, 5 spoke, 5 spoke (16x7), 7 spoke, 9 spoke (16x7)
Also, check any seller of the stock wheels. They all say 7.5" wide.

275's on that rim seems a bit of a stretch. I'm running 275's Nitto 555 on 17x9 wheels on my Mustang and they fit and look fine. An 8" rim can work with some bulging but the 7.5 may be too narrow.

I am running 255 Nitto NT555's on stock 17x7.5 5 spoke wheels lowered with Eibachs and no problems, no rubbing issues etc.
