I am looking for a set of "off the shelf" rears to mount slicks on. They need to be 16" x 10" 6.5" backspace 5" x 4.5" Mustang lug pattern.

Any help is appreciated. :)

I can have them made by either Bogart Racing wheels, or Hole Shot Wheels, but it might take 2-4 weeks to get them. I need them to go racing the weekend of June 14th - Fun Ford Weekend at Atlanta Dragway.

I have been melting google with searches, but this wheel combination is very hard to find. 15" x 10" has already been tried, and come in contact with the rear caliper, so that is not an option.

gooooooooooooooooooood Luck I've been looking for months! I'm almost at the point of getting a pair widend.

mike have you tried looking at weld wheels? they must have a 16 x 10 draglite or prostar for 4.5 bolt pattern. i know jack carter is having a pair of snowflakes i sold him cut and widened to 10 inch for slicks because his supercharger is blowing his 255-16's off all the way down the track in his 97 mark.

Jamie, I looked at Weld, and did not find what I was looking for. They have them in 15" though.

Ryan at Injected found a set of steel rim/DOT slicks in his storage area that are from another customer/friend Steve's Marauder. They bolted up no problem. I just need to replace a inner tube in one of them. Ryan is calling Steve to see what he is selling them for. This should get me by for now. But I think I will have a set made sometime soon. :)

You do not HAVE TO HAVE 10 inch wide wheels. We run stock Conti wheels with M/T ET Drags. We have had 03 and up Cobras run 10's on this width. Do not "over tire" the car it will work against you.

I ran 255 M/T Drag radials on stock Octastar rims, and had mixed results. I crossed my fingers that I would hook every time. 1.80 60' was the best I could get with them. These 28x11.5's hopefully will be more consistent, even though I am going to lose at least a 10th from where I was for having tubes and steel wheels.

Are the Continental wheels any wider than the Mark's 16x7?"

The 275 street tires on my SC aren't cutting it for the track, I could throw $800 at another pair of 17x9 Cobra R's and slicks, but if the Conti's are wider than 7" I might be able to stuff something decent for cheaper..

Again they are 7 inch and you do not need them wider unless your makiing MONSTER power, like I said we had 03 Cobra's going 10's on this size tire picutred.

Hell our 700 HP Bug runs single digits on 60 series BFG Drag Radials that are 9.5 inches wide.

Why not look for a 16 X 9"? There's no difference on the amount of tire you're going to get to the ground. Not with that car.

lol, I would put slicks on my Boze 18x9 rims if I knew they would do any good. I was told by Ryan at Injected Engineering, that the slicks I am purchasing, are similar in width to my buddy Mike's t-bird aka goldbird. He is around 550rwhp/512rwtq, and his M/T's are 27" X 10.5" with 8.9" wide tread. Here is a video of goldbird at SSHS last year. If I can hook like this... I will be very happy :)

Look at what the 10.5 outlaw class does on those tires... That does not mean they wouldn't benefit from more tire. I don't NEED more tire, hell I don't NEED to get laid ever again but it sure would be nice.

You can put the same tire on a 9 inch wheel then take it off and remount it on an 8 inch wheel and you won't have the same overall tire width nor The same amount of tire on the ground. It sounds so pointless but I'm sure you know that when you're throwing on a wide tire on a lowered mark viii 1/16" can be critical.

mshultz should be able to get all the traction he wants with a 17 X 9" Wheel .. was the point I was getting at.
