If any of you read my previous post, you may have realized that my 2000 was smashed in an accident last weekend. I have a spare set of 16" rims with dedicated winter tires mounted on the car right now. I'm currently looking at 2002 and 2003 models to purchase within the next couple of weeks, but I noticed that all of those models have 17" rims. Will my current 16" rims fit on the later models that have stock 17" rims? I'd like to keep that rim and tire combination for the winter. Thanks!!:)

Great! I just pulled the winter rims/tires off and threw the summer ones back on. Also pulled the porterfield drilled/slotted rotors off and replaced them with the stock rotors. Now I have to find a way to drain the fuel (just filled er up before the accident). I tried to siphon the fuel through the filler, but there must be a screen on the filler pipe. I couldn't get my siphon tube into the tank.

Got you a solution for that... PM me with your e-mail; I'll send you the directions

Use a brass punch and hammer (to prevent sparks) on the lowest part on each of the tanks. Have a few buckets ready if the tank is full...

I removed the rear seat and removed the the fuel pump cover and sucked the fuel out. Very easy to do. The tank was completely full and now there's about a 1/4 tank left. It was too damn windy and cold with blowing snow to spend any more time on it to get that last drop.

that's exactly what I was going to send you the directions on how to do!

Thanks anyway Nate. :) I just happened to walk outside after breakfast and peel back the rear seat and noticed the access covers to the fuel pump. I'm glad the components were all plastic rather than having to deal with rusted locking rings that usually need to be tossed.

btw... you do realize it's a saddle tank right... there are two tanks, one main pump and one cross-level pump. So to really drain it entirely, you have to hit both sides.

I kinda figured that when I noticed the other cover. We had blizzard conditions today and I froze my nuts off. The salvage yard can have them few gallons on the other side unless the weather is better tomorrow. :)
