Im not getting much better then 18 on the high way either. I used to get 23MPG on the highway, Im not even holding the gas all the time. Oil is synthetic and new... what could be to blame, and how can I clear this up easily?

Im using 93 octane

Seafoam - where the F do I spray that?

pour half a can in the gas tank and pour the other half in the brake booster vac line on a warm running engine. shut it off. let sit for 30 min, fire it up. rev the hell out of it to clean itself. **dont do it in a closed area! read my thread about it..its a good read.

Idiot free methods: fuel: remove fuel cap down the filler neck into the tank.(usually 1\4 to half can)
oil: remove filler cap pour into crankcase.(usually 1\4 to half can)

Little bit more knowledge: remove vaccum line going into the intake and use small cup to pour 1\2 or 3\4 of a can into it. then start car keep rpms up and use the vaccum line to suck up the seafoam. turn the car off and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. reinstall vaccum line and start car up. OR you can use the pcv valve to suck up.

Im guessing I should do the second one.. thats the tube connected to the intake.. the 1inch one right?

i unplug the booster line. its easier and cheaper to fix if you break it. i find the other lines are too brittle...lol

or you can let the pcv valve suck it up..i find that easier..its located on the drivers side valve cover in the back..you can either pour it in a seperate container or you can do it straight from the can. Do alittle at a time cuase it will more then likely want to die, when it does do that pull it out let it get back to reg idle and continue leting the pcv suck it up.

and btw, i get around 14 mpg strictly city driving using 89 octane.

From what I've read and understand, your supposed to allow for the engine to suck half a can then allow it to stall itself out let it sit for 15 to 20 min and then start in well ventilated area, then be prepared for a mosquito free area for atleast a few hours... enjoy the free time.. :):eek:

Is that all you guys get? I'm in the 19 to 20MPG city driving with the air on.. I get around 26-27 MPG highway. Premium Fuel always.. Seafoam every oil change which is about every 4K to 4.5K miles.

thats terrible milage... i get 20.1 mpg on Shell 92 octane with my 93 screamer. thats city with 2-3 WOT freeway runs to 80-100mph per day...do you have some mods not listed? i dont understand why you run 89 octane. you might save what, $3.50 on a tankfull...

i hate it...my buddy hooked up his machine to my computer and everything was within specs including the 02's...

The only thing i can think of that would affect my mileage are my heavy wheels and the 89 octane.

Are you using the seafoam in the tank and not every tank full? is your ride chipped? Clean your MAF.. may help but I would only recommend the Premium 92 or 93 Octane.

try a tankful of the best Major Brand of 92-93 octane you can find and see if it improves any. i bet itll go up 2-4 mpg just from a fuel change. dont forget to Seafoam regularly:D!

i cleaned my maf again acouple weeks ago. I only seafoam 1-2 times a year and usually only let the pcv suck it up. No gas tank. I had a sct 2 but sold it awhile ago. The milage did not change.

Seafoam it, then put a full tank of premium in the tank look for sunoco 93 and jam every last ounce in there, put a FULL can of seafoam in the tank with it.. I suggest putting in the seafoam first then fill tank to get a good mix.. run the piss out of the car and you should notice an almost immediate response... your mileage should go up considerably..

Good luck let us know how it works out for ya.

How old is you fuel filter, dirty filters kill milage...and eventualy the pump

first you take off the pass front tire
second you remove the plastic wheel well liner
third you remove the fuel filter
fourth reverse steps three through one

***make sure you have the fuel line tool. $7 bucks at Vato Zone
something to consider...... purchasing a service manual for your Mark VIII off ebay.
i keep mine next to the throne so i always have good reading material on hand...
