Big thanks to 04_sport_LS and FDR for getting my mind right after some serious frustration!

First Gen 3.0 V6 owners looking to delete the stock hydraulic pump for an electric setup that don't have a second gen parts car handy, and don't feel like looping the sucker back on itself - it's still super cheap and easy.

I simply grabbed an Idler Pulley w/ Bracket off a 2008 Ford Escape 3.0 (8L8E-3F671-BA). $15 for bracket and idler at picknpull. Slapped that puppy in where the hydraulic pump was -either set of bolts work, since they're the same- and called it a day. Only two of the three holes match up, but the original serpentine seems to be doing just fine with the change.

I pointed out a gen 2 V6 has a bracket/idler but 04_Sport_LS was the one that said look at the Escape! That's a nice find. I'm guessing that 3rd bolt is something the engineers decided was necessary to give it a lot more durability in the long run. Maybe it'll outlast a 20 year old LS though lol. Glad to see a straightforward solution though that has you back up and running

Is the 2001 Lincoln ls v6 the gen 1? Will the ford explorer bracket and pulley work for mine?

My ford escape bracket/idler pulley came in today. No junk yard had it used so I had to buy new, but still way cheaper than a replacement hydraulic pump that I couldn’t find anywhere. Only cost me $96 with shipping. Fingers crossed it works! Thanks for your help!

Thanks so much for this! I tried this and it worked. Was a good feeling when I fired her up and everything was working as it should. Thank you again!
