14.423@97.78mph

Hit 14.4 3 more times last night. Lots more 14.5s too. Tried a little harder on reaction times, I'm usually more focused on launch technique. Hit some pretty good reaction times as well. with a .002 as my best for the night. Trap speed was down a few not sure why.

What is your launch technique?
I would just brake-torque it to about 2K and then floor it as soon as I let go of the brakes on 245 wide summer tires on my 18" wheels and had no prob with wheelspin.

My friend wants to come with me drag racing to watch. I wanna see what time difference will weight of wheels make. I'll talk him into taking his truck so I can take 2 set of wheels with me, my 18s with summer tires, and OEM 17s with all season 245 wide tires.
But first I gotta see if my LS will be able to run on Torrie's tunes, cuz before he couldn't adjust timing at all without my engine pinging on his dyno when I went to FL. Maybe now with new coils it will work.

I don't brake rev it that high usually 1200 or 1500 at most. Seemed like it would bog after launch if reved that hard against the brake. My car pinged on the most advanced tune of Torries original 3 tunes. When he sent me the SST fix and then 2 tunes after that which I requested stepping it up I really have no idea how much advance I have. I do know the trans is now very wicked. If I had to guess he didn't send me to much advance as I did tell him it pinged on the 3rd tune of the original 3. As a matter of fact after the test tune for the SST I asked for something along the lines of the middle tune. Worked OK then I asked for more...thats when my trans got super tight but not sure if timing was advanced at all from the previous.

I'll go when ever I can.

Jason, does yours chirp second at all? Or third?

One of the tunes I got from Torrie I chriped third gear a few times. CRAZY IN an auto!?! I thought to myself. I was drivign next to my friend one night and we were doing a quick pull at around 40 and the ground was a lil wet. My rear end actually came out a little bit when it hit third gear.

The tune I have now w/ 1st gear start will chirp second everytime. as you said, its "wicked"

I cant beleive your hitting so many 14.4's im so jealous. My car just doenst run that good I think, but we'll see. Congrats on your times.

Oh yeah it hits 2nd hard...more than a chirp. Chirps 3rd too almost everytime. I dump it in 4th right after I know I'm clear of the finish and I'm at 6600-6700, hits forth hard too. No chirp but sometimes it sounds like it almost did.

Bring that thing up here, Well get the best out of it.

FYI I hit 14.5 twice without the Xcal2 just exhaust and intake. Heres the best before the Xcal2, just happened to have a friend there with a recorder that day.

I ran tonight and ran a 14.8@92mph. No SST, just straight D5. I ran a 15.1 last time out. I added a K&N and a generic tune on the XC2. I didn't get a chance to run again using SST.

Not bad Cobra.

Jason, Im thinkign you may have a factory freak. 14.5's w/ no xcal?!?! i couldnt break 15's w/o mine on the car. Either you've got the freak or I have the retard. haha

Well I can't call mine a freak as I haven't got that much to compare it too. Not many race there LS.

The only other LS I've drivin was rocket5979s 05. 2nd time down the track I turned a 14.4 that was a hot lap. He ran a stack of 14.3s that day with a 14.290 as his best. His car only has a self made CAI and the Xcal2 and of coarse the 28hp advantage the Gen2s have.

Bring yours up here. If we can't get some mid 14s out of it then maybe I'll start to believe its a freak.

Sad thing is my air filter is filthy, haven't cleaned it since the install in Dec of 05 and 30+k ago. I'm afraid to make any changes...LOL.

is it still thrity bucks to run?

I have about a week lifet before I can get up there. Is it crowded dueing the weekdays yet? or still pretty dead

damn 36?!? it'll have to be a weekday for me then. I swear the price fluctuates a lot. I have been able to get in for free(spectator) occasionly, the partial owner Mr. Kuper had a son in my HIgh school class. And all you have to di is sya "I know MR. Kuper" and they ask you whats his son's name. Ou reply with "Marcel" and your golden!! haha

He kinda looks like the guy from caddyshack if you've seen em. He has a lot of cars but he usually takes a silver 2001-2002 CLK430. Maybe you've seen em

I cant make out what any of those pictures of the timeslips say. What are you guys running for 1/8th mile times? Theres an 1/8th mile track 25 minutes from my house that I go to sometiems, but haven't taken the LS yet. I need a good time to work for on stock guts. :p
And I know you'll say the 1/8 mile is a waste of time, and they dont count for anything. But its cheap (like 10 bucks to RUN depending on what they have going on) and a good place to work on launch technique and reaction time.

The warmer air is getting to your LS. These cars dog off the line when its gets warm.

couldnt agree more with this... UGH, im pretty sure it took me a while to "reel in" my dad in his Envoy last night. yikes....

Yeah but in the cars defense I didn't cool it as much as I think I could have. Could have hit a 14.5 but never going to beat my best in that heat and humidity.

Thats what I like about running in the cooler weather, not just the fact that it runs stronger, it cools down so much faster letting you get more GOOD passes in.

I've had a great time. It was nice meeting you and thanks for all the useful drag racing tips. My friend with the 350Z also says thanks and he was happy to meet someone who knew what was he talking about.

Maybe we could do a meet up one of those days. Do some maintenance or detailing of our vehicles. I know I should change fuel filter.
