Just missed a 14.3 but still a new best time for 1/4 and 1/8th. Not my best 60' and while my MPH for the 1/8th is normal I seem to have lost a few in the 1/4MPH. I've ran 98 in the past. Maybe 77k on the stock plugs and coils is to much:shifty:. Also winds were fairly strong from the NW and the track runs due North.

Slip is hard to read. Sorry.

Oh blame it on the wind... or was the sun in your eyes:p:D

Looks like you had fun again... I'm working on a weekend to get over by you. Want to see the LS Grand Master at Work... When are you taking the Mark VIII?

When are you taking the Mark VIII?

Soon. Defenitely before fall end just to get some GOOD numbers. When I took it years ago I really didn't get close to its potential.

I think I just figured out where my 2 MPH went in the LSE. Just a hunch but definately worth a try. If I'm right, 14.3s will be done very soon. Then the 4.10s...

Photoshopped...:shifty:

LS's are 15 second cars, not 14 second cars.

Good job! Keep trying to get under 14.3!

Did you spin the tires? Was there lots of smoke? I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning! :D

Don't recall you being a racing fan Todd, at least the LS kind of racing.

Controlled tire spin...likely no smoke. Unless you count smoking the 5.0Fox in the other lane.

Great Results!!!!!!!!

I only wish there was something we could do to make this beautiful, comfortable, big, heavy car to be somewhere in the middle 13's.

No matter how much I enjoy and love my car the performance is just not there, it makes me upset that the 4 banger are faster than our cars.

I only wish my car could be on mid/low 14's.

We all love the LS, but unfortunately when it comes to performance 2 thumbs down, I'm still not going to trade it in for a faster car, however that is the only down side to it.
And what makes it worst is there isn't any aftermarket for it either

If there were a viable option for a manual transmission swap, there's a half second drop in ET and a couple more MPH (that's what I got when I went from an AOD to T5 in my '87).

If these guys are successful with a gear swap, you're looking at almost the same drop in ET.

*keeps fingers crossed*

The diff is being built right now and I should have it by Friday. Ford Racing Traction Lock and 4:10s. I picked up a extra driveshaft last week, next week it will be getting length adjusted and fitted with the proper end to bolt to the Mark diff. Hoping for a early October bolt in.

Shooting for 13.9s.

I don't think a manual swap in the LS will be quite as effective as the 5speed auto is fairly quick ratioed like a manual. In your Mark7 going to the manual from the AOD was a bigger jump in gearing. Not that it wouldn't be a bad idea...it'd be great, just maybe not exactly similar to that as far as gains.

You forget the weight difference and manuals generally put more power to the wheels than automatics. :)

These 5R series tranny's would surprise you with their minimal parasitic loss. Looking at the S197 Mustang's give a good idea of what I am talking about as the auto's are usually barely, if at all, behind the manuals stock vs stock. The 4R70W, AOD, and AOD-E's are parasitic leaches and 4 speed auto's which was why there was such large gain going from that to a M5 tranny.
