This has been a growing event for a while now. It would be really nice to see more Lincolns show up. It's a good group of people and it's for those who show their cars as well as those who run at the track.

This is in the Martinsburg, WV and Hagerstown, MD area, near the I-70/I-81 interchange, so it's easy to get to.

Welcome Everyone!

You are cordially invited to attend our Joel Bender Memmorial Nats - SB7 event which will be held Aug 22nd (Greet & Meet)), Aug 23-24th, 2008 (Picnic & Car show), and Sunday (Raceday).

This invite, as has always been, is for all MN12/FN10 T-Bird/SC's-Mark VIII's, Cougars. All Fox body Birds, Cougars are also welcome to participate.

I will be holding the meet and greet at my home, Like last year starting at 7:00 PM on Friday August 22nd. Bring your own alcoholic beverages! We normally pitch in and get Pizza's or something that evening. We'll decide on that later.

Saturday the 23rd will be the Annual Picnic and Car Show. We will meet at the Hotel parking lot in Martinsburg then have a police escort to "War Memorial Park". Departure time to the park will be at approximately 10:00 AM. Once at the park we will set up for the car show to begin at approximately 11:00 AM and to be completed by 1:00 PM. We will begin our picnic at that time and afterwards will hold the award ceremonies for the car show along with several special awards given out each year. After the picnic, show and awards have been presented we will make a determination as to what we want to do. Generally we either go on a cruise, visit a local car show, or other entertainment is available near by.

Sunday the 24th will be Drag Day. We will either meet up as a group to head to Mason Dixon dragway or head over individually dependant on who survives the night before! It is recommended to be at the track between 9:30-10:00 to get adequate parking for all of us in pit area. This is btw Mason Dixon's All Ford Nationals race. All of our cars (RACING) will be entered in the Thundebird/Cougar/Lincoln bracket class. Most of the cars there will be our's with some exceptions. Please insure if you are planning on running that day that you have the proper safety equipment and attire for your E.T. All of our cars Showing that day will proceed to the show field and get registered. I'll try to have someone as a POC for that to help the newbies get situated if you are going to show your ride. Remember, their Ford Car show is seperate from ours.

Afterward, we try to go to Ryan's Buffet in Hagerstown for dinner together prior to departing. Of course, some cannot due to traveling time and distance but its kinda nice to sit and shoot the bull over a good meal prior to leaving.

There is a seperate thread on the WWW.MAMN12.com "Chat" forum for hotel accomodations. Please keep all accomodation questions etc on that thread.

The cost of the Car show & Picnic will be $12 per person! This will go toward the Picnic, Car show, trophies, giveaways, and other expenses related to this event. The picnic will be catered this year! More on that later. Also, the park where we are holding this event also has a pool, putt putt golf and various other things for the younger ones. Again I want to remind parents that children are welcome but please control them appropriately!

If anyone has any questions pertaining to this event please feel free to email me at mtncatracing@wmconnect.com. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Shortly I'll have a POC on this forum to make reservations for the number of cars and attending persons. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

The MAMN12 and its membership is in no way liable for any accidents, injuries or any other problems or concerns that could arise at this event. It is each person's own responsibility to act accordingly.

Thanks
Steve Dugan (1MTNCAT)
