Does anyone have one installed on your car, and how do you get your oil filter in and out. We cant get mine in or out. It will come off the stud, but cant get it out of the engine compartment. Any ideas? We are thinking remote location.

oil filter removal is simply snaking the filter out the way you reach your hand in there, very tricky but its do-able. dont know about the sway bar.

For your oil filter: follow the center line of the filter straight back and rotate end upwards, and replace in the same way. Hope that was of assistance. BTW, you may want to place some cardboard guides around the filter to act as a funnel as it will be messy.

i think hes asking about getting the filter out with a 1 3/8 FRONT bar...........i have a stock front bar, so wouldnt know.............

Sorry I didn't explain myself better. I just added a front 1 3/8 bar, and the filter is trapped. We can get it off the mount, but cant get it out of that space. The bar is soooooooooooo big, and it barely got out before.

You need to slide it towards the frame and over the top of the front sway bar mount, then in front of it and down underneath the power steering resevior hose. I have to spin my hose clamp around because that was in the way.

Pass on the remote location....you have to get a custom adapter because the lower radiator hose is part of the oil filter adapter.
This was advice from J ..... from LOD

Huh? A $30 relocation kit from Summit will do the trick, the generic/universal one. Mates up just fine and everything.

I've been using mine for almost three years and never realized I had a 'custom adapter' or anything like that :)

Have any leaking?

i had the same problem with the 1 3/8 sway bar in my car. after you jack the car up turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. it's still a pretty tight fight but you can snake it out. i used an ac delco oil filter then because it is the smallest one i could find. with the wheel turned and the smaller oil filter i had no problems.

Or you could just put the stock swaybar back in. With the 1 3/8 rear bar and the stock front bar the car oversteers just perfect, and imo it's easier to control when control's lost in the turns. I had an opportunity to play on an airport runway interchange for a few hours and I wouldn't change out the stock front bar for anything.
