I have a 06 LSV8 and was wondering if the older LS manual transmisson would be able to fit ... I really would love my car a hundred times more if it came manual... Anyone do a conversion before?
Damn that is very disappointing![]()
The manual transmission only came in the V6, and the V8 has too much torque for it to handle. However, there was recently an auto to manual trans swap from a 5R55S to a 5 speed Tremec 3650 in the S197 Mustang, which uses the same automatic transmission as the 2nd gen LSes so I believe it's possible at least in the 2nd gens, it just depends on how much you're willing to spend. Dont get disappinted my friend, if your ride has shift-tronic transmission, then you can do this mod for your LS.

I wish I could have done that for my LS, but my ride is Standard.![]()
I really wish this would be an option , but after a year of lack of aftermarket parts and the transmission makes me want to start lookin for something else. Im thinking RS4![]()

Giving up after a year? Lots of us have been waiting a long time for aftermarket, but yea.. probably best to just get something else.
That mod actually as far as I know never got past the R&D stage because the wires ran into the steering wheel would break over time. I saw the LSK car paddle shifter in person but they didnt work. plus the SST shifts slow as h3ll anyway.
Seems to work just fine.... for me.
