I am still tracking down possible issues of my LS's a/c system. there is a a/c pressure switch listed in all the parts manuals, but even after doing many hours of research, I can't find where it is located. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I love this car, but i'm def not a rich man, so I have to do as much as I can.
Thanks
Hank

There is no low side AC pressure switch on the LS.
Instead, there is a high side pressure sensor only. When the AC compressor is off, the clutch is locked out if the high side pressure (which will be the same as the low side pressure when the compressor is off and has been for a little bit) is too low. Once the compressor is on, if the high side pressure goes too high, that will turn the compressor off.

The high side sensor is on the condenser discharge line, pointing up.

So, have you connected a pressure gauge set yet and checked the static pressure?

No, I am saving up money to do that.. (the green stuff isn't easy for an old fart like me to come by). But I am saving. As I said, I really like the car, and want so much to keep it (it's still the nicest car I ever owned), but being well kinda old, I need a/c, lol. I took to heart what you told me in the other post, and I appreciate it. while me and the wife are saving the money to have it checked out, I keep looking and hoping. Thanks again so much.

I have A/C Thanks Joegr!!!! what I ended up with was 79 degrees outside temp, Low side pressure 41 PSI, High side pressure 180 PSI, int. temp (coming from a/c) was 58 degrees. The compressor wouldn't take R134a, The gauge on the can was saying in excess of 55 psi, so I was afraid it was going to blow up in my hands. After hooking the gauges to it, it actually had 18 psi (low side). so patiently I hooked up the can, and little by little, (adding/checking gauges) over and over, the compressor kicked on, and started taking refrigerant. it actually took 1 and 1/2 small cans of R134a to make it work. Good Stuff, Joegr, again.. You Da Man!!!
