05 Lincoln LS hesitates when speeding up

sorry to bring up an old thread (blame my searching LOL) but my 01 drives fine untill I hit the gas hard enought to down shift, then it falls flat on its face till I let off the gas. I'm assuming the coils need to be replaced but confirmation from somone who knows would help me pull the trigger on buying them.

BTW- 01 LSV8 sport, 55K miles

read my thread on the valve cover gaskets suck. i had the ame problem replaced em and the plugs and its fine now.
