'04 LS Dual Din Stereo

]why buy a premium car and just put cheap sh!t in it? if everything you put on you car was the cheapest thing you could get, tires, shocks, brakes, oil, gas... it wouldn't take too long before a taurus would be an upgrade.

+1

There was a HU that someone got here that looked really, really nice and looked like it belonged in the ls. It might have been LeaSr77, andrizzle's head unit is real nice too!

If you can find one you like for 350, get it, but I would just save up a little more and get something real nice.

OP once again I am sorry that my post has seemingly hijacked your thread. I got my kenwood at best buy as a model close out. The current kenwood that replaced it is 1299.99 and I believe it's on sale this week! Best buy also has a fully featured alpine for the same money. Everyone knows that with the world wide web you will undoubtedly find a better deal if you order it. I wish I could take my post back because evrypost since then has been about my purchase price. There are many scenarios on why a person why spend x and buy it at x I gave you mine. if it make everyone feel better I just ordered a pair of power acoustic DVD headrests for my Lincoln for 229.99 shipped did I overpay on that purchase too?1 loud said it best you start cutting corners on quality brand and cost you end up with less than a luxury car. I bought my LS knowing I would be in in wallet often because it's not a cheap car to maintain. The one thing I learned from this thread is unless I am point blank asked I will never advertise the cost of anything I buy again! That said op I would try amazon in my search for a pair of headrests I cam across some stellar deals on double din DVD hu's.

I have been lurking on the forum for a while now and just joined as a member a little while back. I have an '04 V6 and my 6 disk changer just crapped the bed is taking 6 of my cd's with it. No big issue, I am looking for a new HU to replace that.

I see that alot of members here are running dual din set-ups and my question is what issues have you ran into with fitment to get the stock look?

This weekend I tore my radio out trying to retrieve my cd's but that didn't work out to well for me. I have a budget of about $350 to get the new HU the steering wheel controls and some of the extra stuff will come down the line but that is the start price. Does anyone know where I can find a good quality unit that won't break the bank? Also any suggestions on where to start? Of course I will be using all digital music from by iPod and Android.

I am looking to install the deck and stealth the iPod in the glove box also want to be able to hook up Aux input cable below the ashtray for the android or any other non-iPod device.

I already know some of the parts I need like the scoche connector to get my rear stock subs working, what are some other suggestions?

Here's a thought...... See where your local dealer (is there one?) sends radios out for repair and have yours repaired. Get an ipod adapter from here and make a dock like I did for my daughter here. I know it's from a 2000 but I'm pretty sure it will work the same on an '04. I don't know if ipods have remote control or not, but at least you would have access to all your tunes for pretty cheap. IIRC, I spent well less than $100 for all the parts.

I have concidered that however these guys will charge me and in euro. Since our precious $ is doing horrible it would be more cost effective to go with a hu replacement. I'll send it in when I return stateside for repairs.
