03 ls needs help

got i 03 ls with 131000 miles

stoped at the store and when i came back to crank it, it started up made a weird noise (like water hitting a metal fan noise ) and just stoped running. tried to crank it back up and it just makes a click noise (just 1 click) but the lights and everything on the inside works

we pulled the main belt thinking the ac compressor locked up but no luck still the same click sound, also checked the battery and nothing.

dont know what to check next i was thinking a couple things but dont know im scaared the motor locked up or somthing but here are the things i was gonna check next and yall can let me know what yall thing

1.neutral safety switch
2.starter
3.fuel filters
4. you tell me

How did you check the battery?
Most likely (from your symptoms) your battery is weak and needs to be replaced, your battery cable(s) are loose, or the main (B+) connection at the starter is bad.

we took the battery out and put it on the battery tester at advance auto and everything come back normal, but have not tested the starter

Sounds like a bad ground or possibly the starter though they usually give you some warning before they go?

no start but maybe like a week ago i heard that same noise when it started but thought something was froze up and thought nothing of it

I guess it could be a bad solenoid on the starter. Some simple tests with a voltmeter, under the car at the starter, would eliminate the guess work.

also does anyone know where i can get the 6inch touch screen 6disc cd player that came stock in the ultimate pkg ls and the air vent/message sender above the cd player?

mine is the ultimate pkg and has the touch screen anyway but had a air fresher (DRIVIN air fresher do not buy) bust and ruin everything
