Once wondering if anyone could help me out with this question. I have a 2002 Lincoln LS V8. I want to upgrade my stereo system. I have the 6-disc alpine system. I was able to find a 6 disc/navi system that came off of a 2003 i believe. Im not sure it matters cause im pretty sure the 03-06 has the same navi system. My question is does anyone know if that system will work in my car. Im pretty sure it will fit, but the parts guy at my local lincoln dealer told me he didnt think it would work because of electrical differences. He was not to convincing and I was under the impression he wanted to sell me something else so i decided to get a second opinion. Also if the stock 03-06 navi system wont fit, what do you guys recommend for aftermarket systems with LS's. Thanks guys, i appreciate the help.

The nav setup will not work in your '02. Too many wiring diffreneces.

I am using the avic-z1 in my car and really like it alot.

If you do a thread search you will find tons of info on this question.

But to give you the short and sweet answer...... NO it will not work in your LS.

thanks guys, ill check out the avic-z1, and T, sorry im new to this forum, i didnt know i could do a thread search, lol, in the future i will. thanks guys!

Yeah, the Nav retrofit is one of those cost-benefit problems; you probably can retrofit it, but for the time, money, and trouble, you're far better off going with an aftermarket unit that will provide better results anyway.

FWIW, the boundary between the '00-'02s and '03-'06es is generally a hard one to cross for anything electronic; the 1st Gens used OBD-II, but the 2nd Gens are CAN, and pretty much everything in them lives in or is controlled via the CAN data bus.
