02 ls Speed Control issues

Just purchased a 2002 Ls with 25,00 miles on it . Everything works great except the speed control.It cuts out after about 8 mins and won't start again until I turn off the ignition and restart it. I took it to the Lincoln dealer to get a diagnosis .they did a pinpoint system check a said I need a new speed control servo. This seems to be a familiar story on the internet from other LS owners who changed the servo at considerable expense only to find out the problem is still there . I bought a used servo from a used parts yard and replaced mine with it , same thing the cruise control shuts off after 8 mins. All the controls on the steering wheel work ok so that seems to rule out the clock spring , anybody have any ideas about this issue ? ,,, thanks Dave
