02 lincoln ls problem....

when it struggles once it starts after a few seconds..it smells like gas but jus for a few seconds....

that might be all of the gas that was thrown into the engine while it was trying to start but didn't end up burning because it didn't start yet, four seconds is a lot of time trying to start.
