the rear sprag and overdrive was busted.

And your not even going to say what you paid to give others a heads up?

My ls did the same thing a few weeks ago. After research, it could've been either a bad shift solenoid or broken 3-4 spring in the valve body. Got a new solenoid block and valve body and gasket kit for around 250. Shop installed everything for 213 including fluids. Everything is back to normal.

I was also going to have them install a transgo shift kit, but they weren't to jibed about that, so I didn't.

Just reread the original post. Mine still had reverse, so probably something different.
