01 Ls 3.9 Heat issue

Ok after some searching here i found the dccv has a high failure rate but my heat issue does not jive with the examples of the problems other people have had? I start my car from a cold start and it takes about a half an hour for it to start blowing heat once the heat does work its fantastic ac seems to work fine but for the first half hour of driving i get cold air then it just starts working? the temp gauge reads half way and it does not go any higher and i swear i can feel some heat coming out the floor vent but all the rest of the vents blow coldish air?

What happens when you run the DATC self test? (You should run this when the temp gauge hits the midpoint, but you still have no heat.)

Also, have you tried bleeding at the heater bleed to see if there is air in the circuit. If there is, you have one or more leaks somewhere.

tried to run the datc test i believe it gives no error codes or i just cant figure it out i hear all the doors opening and closing but no display codes on the readout? I read you hold the off and defrost which is below the ac button then push auto within 2 seconds?

You should probably check out the cooling system and perform the bleed procedure just to rule that out.
