I ordered from LSK and the rear part number's don't match the packing slip. It seems they may no longer be available so ford ships out a generic replacement. Anyone else run into this?

Double check with Ken, sometimes it is the right product they just change numbers or Ken uses a different number. When I ordered SS Stop Tech brake lines from Ken, they arrived with a different number but was correct part.

There are three different shocks for the LS, I doubt they only ship "generic".

I wrote him a message but I didnt hear back yet so I figured I'd ask the forums. The fronts were okay; the physical part had a different (engineering) number on it but it had a brown sticker on it, which after some conversation with the dealer in which I bought the car from, determined that was the "performance" shock. So that was all set.
There was no sticker like that on the rears. The part number on the packing slip for the rears is XW4Z-18125-CA, but the unopened box says 5U2Z-18V125-VA. I was told by the dealer that the "performance" shock was no longer available and that Ford ships this item in it's place. I wasn't sure that was an acurate statement though. If they're still available through LSK or elsewhere, I'd still like to get the euros for the rear.

Here is what I got back. (see attached)

Thanks for looking into it. I guess this replacement is still better than a monroe, but it would be nice to find out if it is the same valving as the performance part. I doubt it is though.
If you take the base shock number (XW4Z-18125-AA), and sport shock number (XW4Z-18125-BA), do they also reference that generic replacement number (5U2Z-18V125-VA)? That would be a good way to tell if there is something unique (like valving) about the replacement part.
If they are differently valved, I'm also guessing that a sport shock is better than this generic part. If there is still a sport shock in stock at LSK, I'd like to trade up for it.
Thanks again for your help.

is there any news on this?

The only thing I can tell you is that I think they are still what they should be. There are 3 listings for the rear:

Yellow dot, standard, XW4Z-18125-AA
Lavender dot, special, XW4Z-18125-BA
White dot, performance, XW4Z-18125-CA r/b 5U2Z-18V125-VA

All still have different part #'s, none cross over to the same one. So I would say the the new part # is still specific to the performance suspension.

perfect, thats what i was looking for, that they didn't cross over. Thanks for your assistance!

This is correct. I apologize for not checking the threads here. The best way to contact me is through our website or my email. I haven't been checking LvC for the last month due to other obligations.
