    98 LSC misfire

All of us at one time or another have that stick in your gut feeling when sudden engine failures present themselves, I wouldn't judge anyone... A scanner should tell you which cylinder is misfiring, and if you didn't overheat it I'd only fix the miss and do an oil change in the event the misfire...

    Car dies

Just my experience-crank sensors at speed are cooler since it gets a lot of air, but heat sink issue can cause it to get weird at lower speeds. No matter what, it is not going to throw a code and it is classic symptoms for a crank sensor-easy enough to do, if it takes a half hour you took your...

    Car dies

I'm going to guess your crank sensor is going bad, I've had a couple Mark VIII's with those exact symptoms and that was the fix.

    Engine noise on start up

Your oil filter should have an anti-drain back valve buy a good filter and see if that doesn't fix it.

    1995 mark viii headlight options?

i have at least 3 pairs of the fluted lenses and also have a set of HID housings for a 93-96 Gen I, they all have been on the shelf for years and all need to be cleaned up but they are all intact. I have too many cars at this late stage in life and will be selling my 96 soon. I only put 200...

    Frame on ground

Ive read these air ride problem posts for years and am again glad I quit coddling these unreliable systems for Strutmaster springs. Too many things go wrong, and if it leaks for any reason, the car becomes a planter. Drive it up onto 2x4's, install springs. You're done. Or fix it, and go...

    Frame on ground

Another slammed Mark VIII, I once drove mine on the PA turnpike for almost 100 nerve-racking miles slammed when a front bag blew out unexpectedly...

Could some of you guys help me troubleshoot this issue?

If it were me i'd certainly try snugging the covers (after a well clean-up) to see if they still fill with oil. Can't hurt at this point.

    Good old IMRC gone bad.

i have a 96 and these are things you have to stockpile if you have a 96, it is the freak of all Marks...if IMRC is hung open, it needs to be parked until it is fixed. I have a few of both sides, they are hard to come by along with other 96-only vital parts. I've put about 20k on mine since...

    A/C just stopped working

probably have to start hitting junkyards for yet another part for these things...I have a 96 so I've been haunting local yards for the past 10 years grabbing parts (VCRM's, IMRC's, ECM's, those goofy air ride relays-if you have a 96 you know the drill)- Now have to add that harness...sucks...

    A/C just stopped working

clear out your glove box, drop the door and gaze at the burnt connector at the blower motor...Ive had 2 marks and worked on another three for friends, they all are going to do this sooner or later in my experience. You can get the connector at the dealer, splice it in and should be good to go...

97 Mark VIII wont start - HELP!!

Check for spark, hook up an inductive timing light and have someone crank it over while you look at the light, or look at the tach and see if the needle moves while you crank it-checking the fuel is easy too, there is a green cap on the fuel rail that should spray some fuel after cranking if you...
