    perforated seats?

Its supposed to let your back breathe better, works great on German cars that have vinyl seats because it lets air come in and out easier. Somehow that translated to leather seats too, even though leather breathes more than vinyl because it is natural. These days perf seats are for A/C...

The Town Car vs. The Fleetwood (the 80's)

Well that Fleetwood pictured still has complete tail fin and bumper extensions, and the TC isn't the 1986 model with port EFI, so that makes the competition a little tougher...no it doesn't, the TC is still better. ;)

Gen1 to Gen2 door panel conversion

The plastic on a GEN II door reminds me of our old 1996 Sable. Same stuff, even the door light is from a Taurus/Sable. Not bad, but the GEN I stuff is way better.

Help Diagnose my Air Ride Prob :)

Odds are it is ice in the air lines (winter was the big clue there) and leaky front bags. New bags are easy to get, and you need to recondition your drier. www.lincolnsonline.com/article31.html If that fails (hey its free, try it) then you should get a new drier. Many vendors sell it...

FS: 98 Explorer 5.0 AWD in Texas

Just tossing this out there to see if anyone is interested, or knows someone who might. This is a super clean 1998 Explorer Limited (one step above Eddie Bauer, no chrome, even has leather on the doors!) we recently bought, but decided is no longer necessary. Some info: * 56,000 original...

    Hood

Ummm...plastic is a composite resin if you wanna get technical. There are about a bazillion different types of plastic, and some of them behave like fiberglass when broken. So is adobe brick, carbon fiber and fiberglass, but neither of which are used on a Mark VIII. I'll look in my 1993...

Duals For My '85 Mark VII

Well I guess I mean if you didn't go through all the cussing, bleeding, and bolt snapping I did when I did a head/cam/intake/exhaust swap on my 1988 Cougar to make it a 5.0HO you have the 150hp non-HO motor. :p Don't worry, I know how much faster the Bird feels compared to the Mark VII, even...

    New Guy with a Question

It was always available, it might have been standard on LSCs in the late 1980s. I've seen plenty of them, so it was at least an option across the board.

    New Guy with a Question

Do a burnout or take a fast RH turn and see if only one wheel lights up. :p The door tag should either read "E" or "Z", for 3.27/3.08 axle ratios.

Duals For My '85 Mark VII

HO 5.0? Someone did the HO conversion on it? That's very cool. And I think you are spot-on with your plans for the 1985 Mark. Just keep it lookin good. You have a Mark VIII for performance when you need it. :)

    1989 towncar 5.0HO conversion?

I would fix the Mark, sell it, and use the proceeds to buy HO parts. I smell an HO swap! Here's your reference. http://www.lincolnsonline.com/article66.html

    New Guy with a Question

No, most Mark VII LSCs had a trac-lock. Bolt pattern is the same as a Mustang, along with just about everything else. Weight is about the same as a VIII, and the discs on the VII are either the same size or bigger by 1" in the back. Wouldn't be surprised if an older VII with 11" discs all...

    Wheel question 94 Mark

ROFL! Well at least I got the 1988 right on the Continental. Those Contis look pretty cool with Mark VIII rims on them, btw. ;)
