    97 Continental Head Replacement

I was posting in the cooling thread about my 97 Conti' over heating. Turns out it is the head gasket that is blown. I have some questions about upgrading the heads. The engine is a 32v 4.6. I have recently found out that not all 4.6s are the same. The Mustang/Cobra 4.6 is a single ohc and...

    It won't stay cool

Thanks for all the info. It has been determined that the head gasket is blown. :slam Since I will be taking the engine apart what are my options for heads, or should I post in the drive train forum? :feedback -Lew

    It won't stay cool

I have followed the instructions for filling. IF I drive the car at or around 75 MPh it will climb slightly and not get hot. If I drive at or around 75 MPH with the A/C on it will climb to the "H." When the engine is running, and the drain plug is off, I can see the fluid moving to the left...

    97 Conti w/ minor issues

I have driven it pretty hard this weekend. I noticed that the tempature rose out of the letters n o r m while still normal, but never got hot. In fact when it got to the point where it should have gone on to hot, it the hand went back to n o r m. This was with the A/C running. This morning...

    97 Conti w/ minor issues

I have a gauge. It stays within the letters n-o-r-m-a-l so long as the A/C is off and, I just noticed today, do not drive "racey" with it. This is a strange issue. No the heater core is working. I just realized that I had posted a previous message in another thread. I followed the steps...

    97 Conti w/ minor issues

I have just recently purchased a '97 Conti. When I got it the previous owner told me that he was not sure why the car would sometime overheat. It seems to be escallated when the A/C is running. The cooling fans work just fine. I have noticed that if the tempature is in the 80's (which in...

    It won't stay cool

I have a '97 Continental, 4.6 V8. It overheats. I have been trying to find a schematic of the cooling system but can't find one. My immediate thought was thermostat or some clog in the system. I can't find where the thermostat is located 1, and 2, I can't purchase it at my local parts store...
