    No "ignition" sporadically

Thanks for the reply, but being a '91, it doesn't have an alarm system--at least none that I'm aware of. My wife noticed (and I didn't, at first) that this only occurs when the compressor for the rear suspension runs. Sometimes when you turn the key to start the car, the compressor begins to...

Fuse keeps blowing for door locks & dome lgts

Thanks for the replies ... for some reason it has decided not to blow a fuse. I went through door locking and dome/courtesy lights (on and off) to try and systematically single out the fault, but thus far have not had another failure. The seat is the only thing that I haven't played around...

    Lincoln Town Car getting dissed!

The long downward spiral... Face it, folks are being told to: #1: Accept the global economy. #2: Remain loyal to American brands--especially when purchasing what is the single most costly investment (2nd to a home). Huh?! Can't have it both ways! So folks (like me) ride that "loyal" and...

Fuse keeps blowing for door locks & dome lgts

I've blown about six fuses in the last few weeks. Now it's blowing as soon as I plug in the new fuse. I've taken the power window/lock sets out and checked the wires, and they look fine. This is a 91 Towncar, and frankly, I'm getting sick of it pretty fast. So many cheap and crappy parts...

    No "ignition" sporadically

I have a 1992 Lincoln, and at times, when turning the key to "start", nothing happens--save for a faint "click" that seems to be coming from under the passenger side dash. All dash idiot lights come on, and thus far, the starter will eventually crank; sometimes it's simply a delayed reaction...

    Overfilled tranny

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. MIDAS wants 110 to 150 bucks for a fluid/filter replacement. I might just go that route, then I'll know it's fresh and at spec level--shouldn't have to worry about it for a long while. Thanks again.

    Overfilled tranny

I just bought this '91 Town Car from an elderly couple. It's very nice--well maintained, and essentially "new" condition. However, the old gent apparently overfilled the transmission (about halfway up the dipstick!). I'm fairly mechanically inclined, so I pulled it up on my ramps and went to...

    IAC location

Removing/Installing this little troublemaker.... First of all, this site has been helpful ... so thank you. Anyway, I just replaced the IAC on my '91 Town Car. What I found to be most difficult is working under the wiring loom, but didn't see any comments anywhere on this. This CAN be done...
