Would you buy another Mark viii?

I've already technically replaced my Mark VIII, but haven't gotten around to getting rid of the one I have! I've been driving, and put more miles, on Mark VIII's longer than most people on here. I got my 1993 in 1996 and put 225k miles on it and have put almost 100k on my 1998 LSC that I got...

    Rusty Brake Lines - 1st blow-out

I had both rear brake lines from under the driver door back replaced with the copper alloy brake lines. $260 out the door. Not bad. It is amazing how rusty the rear brake lines looked above the differential compared to the almost clean looking brake lines under the driver's door?! The...

    Rusty Brake Lines - 1st blow-out

I'm having my local garage replace both rear brake lines. It will be a couple of hundred bucks. They are using a copper nickle alloy line (or copper coated). The mechanic said the front brake lines are not that bad, and should last a couple more years.

    Rusty Brake Lines - 1st blow-out

Well, I finally blew out a rusty brake line when I hit the brakes pretty hard today. I knew it was coming. I have a 1998 Mark VIII with 147,000 miles on it, park outside, live in the northeast, drive it daily and live by the ocean. All the brake lines haven't looked pretty for a while now...

    It's official...

Awesome car! I seriously considered buying it, but I don't visit the Mark8.org site often enough to notice it fast enough. You jumped on it before me. Seemed like a great deal based on what I could find about the car, and the pics. I do remember when he had it up for $15k, and I thought...

People need to read this, bad seller GMAN.

Just so I'm clear. You purchased a 16-year old Mark VIII with super high miles of 213,000, that had a junk motor swap, and had a front end hit so bad the air bags went off?! What part of that description made you think this is the car for me and I'm going to fly on a plane to pay $4,500 for...

Need advice on OEM tire replacement

I also like the Goodyear Eagle GT's. I just put a set in stock size on my car last week. This is the 4th or 5th time I've put Eagle GT's on Mark VIII's and they are a very good tire all around. Great in wet and dry and they also work OK in snow too. They usually last 40k miles with my...

recommendations for upgrades to replacement engine

3-things you should do that are a pain in the butt once the engine is in the car, but easy while it is out. Some are mentioned above. - Change the DPFE sensor - Change valve cover gaskets - Change oil pan gasket (strip and repaint oil pan if it needs it, especially if you drive in snow...
