    Trunk lock problems

Many thanks, Oldschool1; that manual should be on the way. Looks like it's just what I need.

    Trunk lock problems

Thanks for replies; actually, I think the problem is in the wiring to the pull-down motor, as when this motor runs, it sounds fine. Right now, it's stopped in the pulled-down position, so I can close, lock and unlock the trunk with either the glove-box switch or the keyless entry code. Wiring...

'85 Bill Blass Mark VII wire wheel

Need one of these, without tire.

    Bill Blass Edition

I have the '85 with everything as listed in Oldschool1's post above. It has the wire wheels, hood ornament, "BB" on the dash and even says "Bill Blass" on the passenger side rear quarter window. Oddly enough, vin positions 6 and 7 on this car show it's a '98' which a vin decoder in another post...

    Power steering pump question

'K. Thanks for the response guys. My Mark has ABS, so I believe I'll assume no hydroboost.

    Power steering pump question

'85 Bill Blass. Phoned to price a power steering pump and after checking, the parts guy said he had one without hydro boost. What's Hydro Boost? I thought it had something to do with the brakes, and if so, what's it doing associated with the power steering pump? Does the Mark VII have that?

    Need BB wire wheel

I need one wire wheel for my '85 BB Mark VII. Prior owner replaced the left rear with an odd-ball that sticks out a couple of inches further on the axle than the other one. Anybody got a spare they'll part with?

    Trunk lock problems

My '85 Mark VII power trunk lock used to work flawlessly, but now it is giving me intermittent problems; sometimes it will latch but not power down (close) and sometimes the glove box release switch won't open the trunk. I'm afraid I'm going to get locked out of it soon and need an alternate way...

    Bypassing flashing ABS light?

Heh, heh...I kinda figured somebody would jump in and set me straight pretty quick if I was wrong. Thanks for the correction and now we all know, for sure.

    Bypassing flashing ABS light?

Well, fixing the problem is obviously best. However, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the anti-lock function sorta optional? I mean, there's thousands of cars out there with perfectly functioning brakes that don't have an anti-lock feature.

    Duh..where's the horn?

....and speaking of wiring diagrams, here's a link to one that seems to cover our car's engine stuff... http://www.carbdford.com/viewtopic.php?t=5911

    Duh..where's the horn?

Lincolnluv; Hmmm, now I'm really nervous, 'cause I noticed when I bought my Mark VII that the left front fender was a slightly different shade than the rest of the car and had obviously been a repair of driver's side damage. Damage that may well have included unrepaired horns. I'd dearly love...

    Duh..where's the horn?

Geeze--did you manage to get that done without taking off the fender? Where did you go in for access? I just managed to get my hand in right at the front and could feel something but Gawd knows what. Oldschool1: thanks for your help thus far. The fuse panel graphic is great. You know, somewhere...

    Check antilock brakes...

I get this message on my overhead console in my '85 Mark VII. The light is on constantly. My brakes work fine; what's it mean? I also have a continuous light up there that says "check suspension."
  17. S

    Duh..where's the horn?

Well...I don't don't see any horn-shaped object anywhere; looked up the replacement part elsewhere on the web and don't see anything like that under the hood. Also, where are the fuses and circuit breakers located? Nothing obvious in the usual location by the driver's side door, under the dash...

    Duh..where's the horn?

No kidding; my horn wasn't working on my '86 Bill Blas edition so I decided to investigate. Can't find it! Where should I be looking, 'cause it isn't up front by grill where these things usually are.

    Fast idle

When I start my '86 Mark VII in the morning it has suddenly stated to idle too fast (@1000 rpm). After driving it for a short time, shutting off and restarting seems to clear it up. What should I look for?

    PLEASE HELP mark 7 1986

I also have this problem; so far it has occurred twice. When it does, the starter is totally dead. Trying to jump start it produces no difference, unless you remove the positive battery lead and jump it without the battery in the circuit (I know this is not a recommended procedure but it doesn't...
