Exactly. So at this point - based off the testing, everyone else's experiences, AND the rust on the FEM, I'm going to take the risk and see if I can get one off eBay. I think if I get the one that's for my exact model it might just be a plug and play. Either way I can get it programmed if needed.

Okay, so it seems that everything points to the FEM being the culprit here. The multimeter had a .70 reading, which was no surprise because it killed my car overnight. Upon pulling the fuses it seemed that the ones associated with the FEM wouldn't go into standby mode like they should so...

Checked the lights, everything turns off as it should (including the trunk, glove box, etc.). Checked the battery terminal chassis contact and it was a bit less than ideal but very minor so I gave it a sand down. I guess I'll have to borrow a multimeter cause I can't find mine at the moment...

It's not even a month old yet. I had two new batteries in my car within 2 months, because I suspected the new one I bought before my current one was a dud so I exchanged it. Obviously now that wasn't the case.

Nope. Everything is factory as far as I can tell. The only thing I installed aftermarket was a radio, but I've had that in for over a year at this point.
