    Overheating - heater blows cold

-It's probably too late now, but you really don't want to disturb it in any way that lets any hard particles fall into a cylinder, where they might scratch the cylinder wall and cause an oil consumption problem. gotcha! I have only cleaned the ones in the upper manifold, and I’ll do as you...

    Overheating - heater blows cold

Ok, well, after far too much hemming and hawing and delays, I’m in to the manifold, and the news is... I don’t know. There’s no fluid in here, but there’s plenty of charring. Am I fine to just scrape this stuff off and call it good? And that insulation bag seems cooked, is there a way to get...

    Overheating - heater blows cold

It is definitely possible someone put another coolant or stop leak in there. Is there anything I can do to clean it out? I guess I’ll have the intake manifold coming off tomorrow anyway, so I’ll get to see what it looks like inside a little. Also those hose clamps are the devils work.

    Overheating - heater blows cold

Hey, not sure if you’ll see this, but I finally got all the parts together and started this project. I discovered clay like gunk in the radiator tubes while disassembling. (Step 10c or so). Does this indicate blown head gasket? That’s what doctor google is telling me.

    Overheating - heater blows cold

Oh no. Well, that’s a bummer to hear that. Is this a “don’t drive even a foot until you’ve done it all” situation? Or can I do short trips with the heater on? also thanks for your help joe.

    Overheating - heater blows cold

Hey, so my 2003 LS spontaneously started overheating while i was driving. I pulled over and waited a while then drove home once it was cooled to the middle. I ran the heater on full, and temp stayed in the middle, but the hot air wasn’t blowing hot. The coolant seems at a normal level. I’m just...

New LS owner… already wrecked her!

Hey, guys. Well, it’s taken Far longer than expected, but I’ve finally gotten everything done. Well, mostly. I still need to deal with the wheel, and find where I put those two lug nuts! But replacing the subframe and suspension is complete. I do have some more pictures, and I’ll do a final...

    head gasket in a can

Liquid Glass is sodium silicate, which is the main ingredient in most engine-stop leak products. I’ve used bars leaks in the past with success.

New LS owner… already wrecked her!

Well, I went to the junkyard today, but I didn’t have the right bits to remove the bolts! So I’ll have to go back after the holidays, prolly a week from now. Stay tuned for more drama from Lizzie!

Thanks Grey, that was helpful. Here’s the promised video. I’m not sure if you can tell on the video, but it looks like the radiator crossMember is bent. I’ll have Tuesday off and I can go to the junkyard then. GoPro Splice

Yeah, the slots are too close together. I was out of daylight earlier. I’ll take a video in the am before work and show the actual problem better.

New LS owner… already wrecked her!

Ok guys, I’ve finally gotten all the parts and a day free and I started working this morning. Well, it took far too long to disassemble, and the lower control arm was amazingly difficult to get out. It seems like the UCA and knuckle were not in fact bent, and the shock and coil do seem fine...

New LS owner… already wrecked her!

Sorry for no update yesterday, I had to sit in a dentists chair all day and couldn’t really deal with this. Only thing I found at the junkyard was the black plastic cowl and flap, everything else was trashed worse than mine. And they didn’t have the wheels. So still looking for a wheel, and...

New LS owner… already wrecked her!

Ok, I’ve been back by on my way to the junkyard. The sway bushings seem fine from what I can see. Finally something I didn’t break! Thanks for helping me find those Grey. I’m not sure how I wrecked the rotor. Joe put the kibosh on me blaming the prior state of things for the wreck. So it’s just...

New LS owner… already wrecked her!

Bah, for some reason I had thought that the American taillights were always all red and the split ones were euro and Japanese. Still open to trades! You have to discharge the ac to replace the sway bar? That seems ludicrous. I think I’ll have a specialist address the sway bar after I’ve done...

Rear bushings in the middle Of this picture. I saw the crack/split and didn’t look any further. Ordering these too. Sway bar going into body: I was trying to see if the shock is straight. Lower control arm front bushing:
