    Center console lid

The broken latch issue has been fixed in a number of ways...a quick search will uncover most of them. One article, from some time back, goes into great detail about the issue. Others have used magnets to solve the problem. When I first purchased my LS, as a project car (as time allows) last...

    Official LS Picture Thread

Ha, a dude right around the corner from me just got busted for running a college girl prostitution ring here in central Oklahoma. Crazy thing is, I know a few people who had this guy in a few courses at the University. Looks like some of those entrepreneur courses paid off...minus the arrest...

The Downfall of my Lincoln LS

First, I have to say that I am no where near as competent as some of the other members here. Secondly, go get those codes read again and post them here. Are you currently experiencing the rod knock, or are you just stating a future concern that was gathered from your research? Also you...

2000 3.9 V8 needs new engine WHere to find one?

I can't remember who, but another member said it best. Expect to put at least another $2000 into the car the moment you buy it. With that being said, one should expect to invest a similar amount into any 15 year old car in my opinion, especially ones that fall into the luxe category. Another...

2005 Lincoln LS v8 exhaust smell

Correct, on the v6 model the Intake Manifold Tuner Valve o-ring gets worn into more of a disk shape... or flattened so to speak. This causes a slight oil drip from the far back of the Upper Intake Manifold onto the exhaust. The fumes will get sucked into the cabin air filter and emit the...

    High output alternator

Good luck finding one that works with a Gen I LS. I could be wrong here, but if I remember correctly the first gen's alternators were regulated by the PCM, I could be wrong but I recall reading a small bit about it. I'm sure more knowledgeable members can highlight on this if I am indeed...

    Cylinder 7 misfire

I'm probably going to jinks myself here, but when I first purchased my LS it had a trashed converter that was throwing the dreaded P0420 code. The first task I did was to change out all my coils and plugs with Motorcraft and had an Eastern put on my car. I have yet to experience any problems...

    Oil Pan Gasket repair

Yes, I am aware that they are two separate engines.... No, I haven't studied both oil pans in much detail at all. I wasn't aware that one was in the open and the other was tucked in behind multiple components. Hence, the fore mention of being curious. I suppose curiosity does indeed kill the...

    Oil Pan Gasket repair

Just out of curiosity Joegr, whats the difference in the v6 and v8? It's the same setup isn't it? Why is one painful and the other a breeze? Is there also a difference in Gen I and Gen II?

It's your "Acc. Power" wire on your head unit that should tap into the RAP signal wire. Not the "+12 Power" wire.

You should do some shots down by Chesapeake HQ with all their Christmas lights and such. Might could get some really cool "holiday" themed photos....just a thought.

Opinion on where to mount my toggle/on-off switch for my new sub amp

Yep, this is where I'm considering mounting my toggle switch if I go that route.

Opinion on where to mount my toggle/on-off switch for my new sub amp

If you have a Gen II, you can mount it where the "Valet" switch was on the Gen I's. I've contemplated using a switch for my subs as well, and if I choose to go that route, then that is where I will be mounting my toggle switch.

Yeah, I thought about that. The gasket on the backplate wasn't cut, so it still conforms/squishes around the HID wires. I also trimmed the rubber grommet from the harness to fit inside the trimmed area as well. The amount of plastic material I removed was actually fairly little, maybe 3/8"...

Amp placement: Who has the most out-of-the-way location?

I plan on fabricating a "shelf" inside my spare tire well that's hinged so it can be "flipped" out of the way and still maintain access to the spare. There was another member on here that mentioned doing something similar...

Well my HIDs from DDM Tuning came Tuesday night. Finally had time to install them today and snapped a few pictures while in the process. I thought I might share with the community. First, I removed the headlamp housing and took off the backplate and the original bulb. I then covered the...
