    Waiting Room

It's nice to have friends with toys. Especially fast toys! Every now and then, I'll visit the local dealerships and test drive the latest models. The LS earns you a little respect from the sales person. But, after the test drives, the LS just feels right. Like well worn leather gloves.

    Waiting Room

I've always believed in out running my blind spots. Even with the blind spot warning light on my Explorer. It just seems natural. But, I imagine the driver's cockpit will eventually look similar to a fighter jet or Boeing 757. Or, am I just wishing it did?

Did I Mention I Hate Car Dealers?

Good point. It's not like we're dealing with Mustangs. But I imagine that there aren't too many one off highly critical parts. An ex girlfriend's father restored OLD Jaguars. He had to custom make many parts. We should probably start a thread for the critical parts every enthusiast should keep...

Did I Mention I Hate Car Dealers?

In my will, it goes to my Siberian Husky puppy. (Along with a plot of land in Montana) The wife likes German cars. And her son would only steal it from her.

Did I Mention I Hate Car Dealers?

I have way too much invested in my LS to just give it away for a few grand. Note, I bought it new and really haven't spent much on it in repairs, and no mods. It runs like a champ. It's in in great condition. I know it inside and out. (It needs a window regulator and has an a/c issue. But...

Did I Mention I Hate Car Dealers?

Doesn't sound like a seller either. I'm not giving away my car for a used car lot to make money flipping it. Hence, the baby is warm and happy in my garage. My 2014 365hp Explorer Sport now gets the abuse of a heavy right foot.

I also have a set of 8" floppy disks with the early version of an Internet communications program.

5 1/4" floppy. I'm the same. I have a Compaq 80286 desktop, it doesn't work, along with numerous laptops/desktops purchased over the years. A 3 1/2 external drive,... My wife gets mad at me. But, I know someday I'll find a use for all of it.

Windows: Years ago, l was a big advocate for Lotus 123 and Wordperfect. Microsoft starting pushing their programs (Excel and Word...). Companies latched on to the integrated program concept and now few people remember Lotus or Wordperfect. I believe MS is trying to do it again. Tie all...

    confused need help please

All joking aside, the information provided should have ended this thread. Why he sought answers from others is beyond me. I do know, sometimes when we ask questions, we expect the answer to fit into a preconceived box. Kind of like we expect to be given an apple. But, someone hands us a...

    Motorcraft COPs.

Has anyone else recently bought Motorcraft coils made in China? The reason I am willing to pay the premium for Motorcraft is to ensure the meet OEM specifications. Otherwise, the Chinese generic brands are just as good, given the way Chinese companies operate.

And I'm still staying off that damn bike! And, you're right. You guys have have helped, or attempted to help, most of the members with questions. Sometimes I feel as if I could build an LS in my sleep after reading all the responses to the questions asked. Now, where's that damn bike, I need...

What did you do to your LS today?

Front RH window regulator broke. Good thing, it forced me to clean up the garage. Now the LS is its happy place. Now I can take the opportunity to find and replace the temperature sensor. Which appears to require removing the dash. Followed by replacing the window regulator.

    Alternator...?

I recently bought a Motorcraft BXT-66-750 CCA from the local Ford Dealership for $120. It's vented and the recommended battery for the car. Well, actually, I think the 650 CCA is the original battery. I trust Ford parts.

    Alternator...?

Installing an unvented battery in the trunk, a tightly sealed box, is a SIGNIFICANT safety issue. Please don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The guy selling you the battery is what, a guy selling autoparts. No disrespect intended, but he isn't working in a highly skilled job. And, he may be...

    Fog Lights: Round or Rectangle?

I think the round "fog" lights on the 06 have a good balance between luxury and sport.
