Thank you. It's funny, last night the window worked successfully 5 times in a row. Today, it will probably fail 5 times in a row. Yes, I have re-initialized the motor. I don't know if it was ever indexed or not.
I have done some research on this but I am at a concert waiting for it to start so I'm just going to post my question...
My driver's side window will go down beautifully. Going up is a different story. It will sometimes go up (one touch automatically) fine but most of the time, the one touch...
Looking for a tan seat cushion (heated and cooled) for an '03, but I believe '03-'06 would work. If you have one available, please let me know. If you need more information, please let me know as well.
Thanks for looking.
Yes, sorry. I meant coil covers, but when checking other things, they did have the valve covers off. The plugs were replaced at 100,000 miles and they were looking at it at 110,000 miles. Their service bulletin told them that a loose spark plug could cause some issues (smell). At least that...
I would agree. The smell that I get, I believe smells like my nose is up against the outside exhaust pipe. My mechanic thinks he smells a bit of oil. A Ford dealership put the new valve cover gaskets on and they said that they had a very hard time doing so...this was when I had a fouled coil...
Thanks. So you changed out the gaskets, right? Not the plugs. My plugs were dry too. Did the fumes stay around awhile or did they go away after the car warmed up?
Was wondering if anyone else experienced fumes inside the cabin on a cold start only to have it go away in a few minutes? Would love to hear your findings! Also, Intake Manifold
Tuning Valves were just on the V6 cars, correct? I did read that some changed those out and it helped fumes from...
He said it wasn't a terrible leak, but that was the only thing not completely dry on the car. The Lincoln garage said that it wouldn't take much to cause what is going on.
QUOTE=joegr;2037395621]Well, I would certainly check to see if it is leaking first...
Quick update...after replacing the VCT seals, I didn't notice any improvement in the fumes inside the cabin. My mechanic then called the local Lincoln garage and they said that they had several Gen II cars that had a leaking rear pinion seal that caused this. Anyone else heard of this? Before...
I have an '03 LS and thought the newer LSs had a satellite radio button. Is this the case? I'm seeing some come up on eBay. Do you need anything more than a Sirius account to listen? I inquired about one on eBay and the seller said it needed another device. Can anyone tell me?
I...
Thank you. Yes, he replaced both.
QUOTE=joegr;2037394750]Looks like you might have a coolant leak starting, either the upper radiator hose, or the top of the left radiator tank at the front of the tank (have to take the bracket off to see it. Alternately, it just be what he used to clean...
Yes. He pulled the coil packs and they were completely dry. He said if they were oily, it would indicate the valve cover gaskets would need to be replaced. He ordered those as well.
Unfortunately, the smell was right back in there today. He said the engine is completely dry/clean...
Update -
He replaced the O-rings and cleaned the engine compartment. I'm anxious to see if this does the trick. He was able to replace them without removing the valve cover gaskets. I have my doubts that this is the cause based on the fact that I don't think you had any cabin odors even when...
Thanks. He actually hadn't looked at the valve cover (yet). He was running through the possibilities. I'm taking it in on Thursday. He is going to start with the coil packs, I think, to see if some oil is in and around there. I'm not a mechanic so sometimes it's hard for me to translate...
