Location: Between Milwaukee and Chicago. I drive 130 miles a day, commuter car not not meant for anything else. Snow is not a problem, as long as the depth is less then the under carriage.
I went with a set of Goodyear ComforTred and the performed great last winter compared to the last pair...
I had the same issue [2001 V8]. Started out slowly, then over time more smoke and a developing gas smell; only happened at startup. Turned out to be leaky fuel injectors.
I had the same problem in my 01V8. I just bit the bullet and changed all 8, wanted the problem gone for good.
Was afraid I would change the culprit one week and have another start leaking the next.
Got mine from rockauto
My 2001 V8 had a similar problem. Cold starts were ok, hot starts acted like it was flooded [smelled gas and saw blue smoke when it did start].
It was leaky injectors. I went ahead and changed them all. Cost ~$600 from rockauto.
