Actually had something similar happen, where it would run fine, and then refuse to start at times. Ended up being the key itself...had a tiny crack and wouldnt start the car occasionally. Just something cheap to check out first.

Actually, then, the LS throttle body is acting similar to a small velocity stack. Might actually work better.

The pic showing the 2 throttle bodies together, they look identical in size. If you aren't going up in size significantly, and you didn't have to port the intake plenum, I don't understand the point. I can see going from 60mm to 70mm, but I cant see any difference between these two.

Wow. can't say as I've had this one ever happen. My '00 LS has never ever moved off direct center on the temp guage (even idling with ac on in downtown traffic). Could it maybe be hydraulic radiator fan not kicking in? Maybe pump? Hope you get it figured out.
