I assumed he was referring to the Mark VIII, which only came with DC HIDs. It's very hard to find bulbs for that car, since they are no longer made. If it really is the Mark VII, then there's no reason for the question since those bulbs are everywhere.

If you are referring to our Lincoln Mark VIIs produced from 1984 to 1992, they left the factory with series 9004 halogen bulbs. They are readily available over the counter from your local AdvanceNapaO'rielyZone.

Seems like it would be more likely to be a problem with one of the connectors to the instrument cluster. It could be a bad ground connection. Maybe the cluster is grounding through the backlight bulbs, but it can't do that when power is switched on to the bulbs. Find and restore the missing...

OEM lights are getting bad too, though. Ford Explorer/Fusion LED projectors and Honda LED reflectors glare like crazy. Many other projectors of all types are aimed way too high from the factory (LED Corollas and Range Rovers come to mind). Owners have no idea they're causing a problem
