    Why is my LS overheating????

The best way to monitor what is going on is with an OBD Bluetooth adaptor and software in your cell. I'm iPhone based so I use Forscan on the phone tied to this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WPW6BAE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Why is my LS overheating????

Typo, they put the 6 right next to the 9 o_O Corrected,3.9L. I've tried that multiple times over the 16 years of owning the 2003. with my sloped driveway. It does not work as well as what I do now.

    Why is my LS overheating????

As an original owner of two LS 3.9L, one 2001 then replaced with 2003, all plastic needs to be replaced about every 100k or 10 years. And that includes the radiator. YMMV. I've got a thread here somewhere long ago. I've had an overheat a few times, typically always due to low coolant from...

    Fuel Pressure Regulator?

I had to replace the one on my 2003 which is probably a different part number. It was the cause of pressure fluctuations within my fuel system, also sometimes going high in pressure and enriching the F/A ratio. I had spare fuel pumps and REM, but neither of those were the issue. At the time...

Gen 2 Cooling system Question: DCCV and heater

I've been experiencing a weird issue lately with my coolant temps. Both the T/S and DCCV are a few months old as I flipped them for the same issue. Within a few miles of starting out in the mornings my temp can rise up to 240, and I can tell if I don't have Forscan up on the phone by the...

Adding PAG oil in Old A/C system with no new parts

From my history on RockAuto it looks like the last time I bought it from there was many years ago, and it doesn't show now. Looking at eBay sites, they all only ship to USA. I would check these for Canada...

Adding PAG oil in Old A/C system with no new parts

I bought the "Lincoln LS" o-ring kit since Ford discontinued some of the o-rings. Total waste of money. Straight R134 is not hard to find in the cans, NAPA, Advance, RockAuto ...... just get a known brand name.

    '03 LS8 Fan Failure

It wasn't for me, it was just disconnecting then reconnecting the harness. I would go as far to say that just moving the harness could cause a failure on some. I've done a lot of harness work over the years on Ford based harnesses, and this was the first time I could where the wire...

Adding PAG oil in Old A/C system with no new parts

I just followed what the service manual stated per part, although I probably put an extra amount in. Replaced the compressor; it already had some in from the manufacturer, I added to bring it up to Lincoln's stated amount per their instructions. The condenser, what Lincoln stated when...

    '03 LS8 Fan Failure

I had a wiped fan, but still had issues after putting in a replacement salvage fan. This fan worked except not when the control signal plug was installed. It turned out that the crimp on one of the terminals was not fully done at assembly on the harness side, so my original unplugging and...

    Successful AC rework.

Found a hole in the condenser, which caused a loss of 134. So with 146k on the car thought the compressor should be changed proactively too. After pulling the compressor the drained oil showed no metal flakes indicating an internal failure. New compressor, new condenser, new drier, add oil...

    OEM Rotors/Capilers?

Rust embedded into friction takes a good while to wear out, but if it's not clearing then you'll have to change. Turning in the integral parking pistons is always hard, it's not the normal way they are applied when braking, you're screwing them into the parking brake take-up.

    OEM Rotors/Capilers?

Right now your friction material rubbing surfaces are embedded with iron oxide and the rotors pitted so they won't perform normal. You could drive it around more consistently and both surfaces renewed and see how they are. With a high rust condition the pad steelbacks can hangup in the...

    A/C worked yesterday, nothing today

I just don't know if my guy flipped back in my old charge from the recovery. I'll hunt for dirt tomorrow.

    A/C worked yesterday, nothing today

Only took a few oz to bring the pressure up. In the fall the wife said she thought the AC only worked at speed, but it also had an electric fan failure at the same time which is what I thought the AC situation was also due to. Compressor and receiver ordered earlier, may pickup a condenser...

    A/C worked yesterday, nothing today

Looks like I'm in the same situation, an A/C issue. Put my gauges on (estate sale) and got 60psi (low) on both sides @80F. Compressor does engage, just no pressure changes, so that doesn't look good. Normally I don't mess with A/C. Loaded to 75psi statically, where it should be. Wasn't...

What the heck??? ETC engine fail safe mode

With our LS, failsafe (other then overheat) has always been the battery capacity getting low causing a deeper then normal voltage drop at start. I typically exchange the battery and put the old one in a piece of farm equipment where is lasts another 2 years. So it would be worth getting the...

weird vacuum sound from under hood.

There's a lot of manuals out there like that. Step 1, remove engine. Step 2, remove alternator. The alternator on an '03 Escape is no joy either.
