New here from nc

Hello all, not really new here I've been a member fit awhile I have bounced around a bit been lincons. Bought an 03 sport, 00 sport v6 and an 05 ultimate. Pretty much all junk! Haha
I have finally ended up with a great deal of an LS yesterday. 2004 sport v8 with right at 100k miles. When I say deal I mean clean and clear title drove it over an hour home for $800 bucks!
The only major concern I have out of the car is it seems to leak coolant from the thermostat housing, guy said he had a new thermostat and housing put on. It looks new,but seems to leak. Car had over heated a couple of times but runs great and oil is perfect, no water mix.

What should I be looking for and keeping my eyes peeled for? I know these engines have their share of issues.

Just replacing a couple of parts won't get it.

Sometimes the thermostat housing cap seal is bad or isn't seated well enough. If so, it will leak. When I put my new housing on,the cap had a bad o-ring seal, so I bought a new cap and threw the old cap with a new seal on it in the trunk. don-ohio ^)

That's exactly what I wad thinking because the only place I can see it leaking from is the housing itself. Sends to be the cap so that would explain a lot

I'll counter bet that it is the 45 degree pipe coming up from the engine.

Aftermarket fill cap, picked up a stock one from the junkyard and all seems fine
