Update on my one off Aureole Rings.

I am loving these.

Each led is rated at 18,000 mcd with what amperage they are getting. The larger ring has 81 led's. Which should come to 1,458,000 for the ring. I really don't know how accurate that would for the output though.
I still have to mold a new piece into the black housing in the blinker area to hold a "projector" beam, cover the black housing in the headlight in carbon fiber and refinish the lenses on the headlights.

I like these a lot. I think the sharp angles make the headlights look as if they are mad. Pics on car please :)

I would like to know if there is anyone in Milwaukee that has the Lightwurkz rings for a side by side comparison on brightness.

First shots taken with my phone. I completed these and have had them sitting in the closet for along time because I was going to sell the car and get a 2nd Gen, but I decided to wait on that and keep this one longer.

This is why I chose the name "Aureole Rings" for them.

aureole

noun

1. a radiance encircling the head or body, as in religious paintings; halo; glory

2. the illuminated area around the sun, etc., as when seen in a mist or during an eclipse; sun's corona

Looks really coo, where did you source your LED's from and how did you mount and wire them? I'm torn between the BMW type halo's and the newer line of LED's.

I'm thinking about doing a flowing line under the eyebrow using the lexan as a 'projector'

not bad... very Tron esk... i think i'd like them more if they were recessed a bit more

This is the source for the led's that I went with. http://www.ebay.com/itm/12064367060...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_3479wt_1014

Here are some photos to give you a better idea of the build. They are wired into the ignition wire so they are on whenever the key is in the ignition.

SO how did you wire the ring? 3 LED's in series with a load resister to get the 3.4v LED's to 12-13vdc?

Sadly I was an electronics tech in the Navy but it's been 14 years since I played with basic electronics and have forgotten just about everything...

Yes, they are 3 led's in a series to one resister. Calculated for 13.8volts.

I like the custom work but they just look out of place if you ask me. Good work though on doing something away from the norm.
