Talk of a new Engine/Head/Car is kinda silly guys, that is not a solution to such a simple and silly problem.
I was asking if anyone has any experience and if they can offer some suggestions based on that.
As it stands I am going to get the Time Sert kit and give it a go.
Well, it is all kinda in the title. I blew a spark plug in my 2002 LS v6, destroyed the coil and stripped the threads in the head.
I was doing some research and came across helicoil and time sert, but one thing I am sure is that with so many options I have no idea which is the smartest route to...
On my 2002 Lincoln LS v6 I recently failed NYS emissions inspection due to the system not being ready, despite doing over 1000 miles since changing a battery. So I went to do some inspections of my own under the hood and found that a hose which runs from the back of the intake manifold - via a...
Allow me to clarify. In both videos I was braking pretty hard and completely off the throttle. When braking I was straining against a revving engine... as if I was still on the throttle.
If I let go of the throttle and idle at 20mph the car keeps revving and gaining speed.
The second video is...
Here are two video I took of my tachometer illustrating the problem:

Also, I noticed that there is a small adjustment screw on the throttle body. Is that something that I can/should try adjusting?
That was the first thing I checked. When I let go of the pedal it immediately lets go of the TB.
The only thing I did was take off the TB and cleaned it up as well as changed its gasket, did do anything else besides the IAC.
So I have an '02 LS v6 with 73,xxx. I recently completed a top end overhaul with new:
Valve Cover Gaskets
Lower and Upper Intake Gaskets
IMT Gasket
All New PCV Components
New Belt and Idler
New IAC Valve
New TPS
New MAF Sensor
New Plugs
One New Coil
At first when I started the car after...
Thanks for all the tips guys. So I wedged a flat crowbar between the damper and the tensioner together with a buddy I was able to follow the torquing procedure.
Using the flat crowbar allowed me to apply force without compromising the torque readings. So all done, thanks!
I am trying to tighten the crank bolt pulley on my V6 3.0, but the engine starts turning before I reach the correct torque. I tried putting the belt on but it still slips.
Any ideas on how to hold the engine so that I can tighten it?
On my '02 LS v6 I pulled off my intake manifold and the lower intake and there is an elbow which connects to the manifold, and is connected to a little box which is bolted between the manifold ports. Attached is a picture, any idea what it is? Should I replace any parts of it since I already...
Well there is nothing to suggest a warped head, the engine ran fine before the teardown (minus the misfires due to a bad coil and MAF), and I never lost too much oil on the dipstick... The body is so-so without considering the damage, interior is clean, suspension has some sag and bottoms out...
Some background, this is my mothers '02 LS V6, I got it for her like 7 years ago off a repossession auction for dirt cheap ($2k) and at the time it had around 40,000 miles. Today it has just over 70,000 and my dear brother got swiped and damaged both the drivers side front and rear door...
