Did you look to see if the A/C compressor is turning? If you are running the compressor, the no A/C can be caused by a faulty blend door motor. The receiver/drier will make those noises if the compressor is working.

You could always try putting a can of seafoam in the oil just follow the directions on the can as to how long to run (5-10-15 minutes) it before you change the oil But with 210k+ miles on it, it may just be tired.
